Any F.R.I.E.N.D.S. fans out there? My husband and I watch that show on the daily and yet every episode seems as funny the 500th time as it did the first time.
As some of you may know, my husband and I are on a much needed IVF break while we get some additional tests done to see if we can crack the code of our unexplained infertility. There has to be an explanation, so what is it??
My question to you, is what are your favorite, cost-effective, things to do as a couple? Daniel and I have conflicting work schedules and unfortunately only have our evenings together. Because we're both homebodies, we like to order in and watch TV (I know, we're boring), but in this new year, I really want to be more active and get out. I'd love to take a vacation (Lord knows I need one!) but that's on hold for now until we know what the next few months will look like.
So please tell me your favorite dates!!
We are on a break as well after our first failed FET. We live in the north east so the winter is a bit tough. It really enables our homebody-selves to stay indoors. We love going to local festivals when the weather permits. Next weekend one of the open air museums is having different artists like ice carvers, metal workers and a "how to build a campfire" event! Typically entry is lower cost or no cost for these events and we can pack our own lunch/dinner!
Those things sound so fun! I live in Charleston, SC, and we've had an unusually warm winter, so there's really no excuse for us staying indoors! Thank you for the suggestions!
My husband and I binge watch all kinds of shows (The Office, Parks & Rec, and newly watching Riverdale). We travel at least one new place a year and have started renovating our house. We both enjoy weight lifting so we workout daily and in the summer (we live in Ohio) we go hiking. These help keep our mind off of TTC. We are only on cycle 6 but boy can it be frustrating and mind consuming.
We are heavy binge watchers as well hahaha! We recently started binge watching the Office and it's brought me a lot of joy! It's so important to have things that take your mind off of TTC!
We are homebodies too! We dont get out much, but we enjoy trivia nights (which I suck at and used to roll my eyes at but it’s actually really fun!), bowling, hiking, being tourists right here in our own town. Winter is so hard!
Daniel and I really need to be more touristy, too. What kind of trivia nights do you do?? If there was a FRIENDS one, I'm sure I'd be good at it hahaha
My husband and I live in New England and like to binge watch shows in the winter! We just finished Ozark! Soo good!
We LOVED Ozark! Did you watch both seasons?? It's going to be ages before season 3 comes out :-(
@Candace Van Wade both seasons !!! I love binge watching until you reach The end and have to wait for the next season! Takes forwver!!!! We also loved Narcos!!
We are homebodies too! Retro video game nights and trips to the video store (Family Video, much like blockbuster and apparently they exist in way more locations than I thought!). We also like to get records from a second hand store!
That's so funny that you mentioned video games... my husband recently bought a Nintendo Switch and we played it one night over Christmas break and I actually had so much fun! We also have a Raspberry Pie (or Pi?) and I love playing that too.
@Candace Van Wade Piggy-backing off this post since I saw you have the Nintendo Switch. We love the JackBox party pack. We love to play trivia against each other! Mario Party is a great one too!
I’m going to throw this out there and I feel as though I have suggested it to my fertile friends and even they laugh at me... couples work outs! My husband and I started our own home gym down stairs in our basement and it’s been kind of fun to turn on some crazy music and do some fun work outs. its a good way to spend some stress free time together, and it’s healthy. Kind of a strange suggestion but if you can buy some cheap gym quipment you’ll get your money’s worth and it’s essentially free and really helps you unwind together!
That’s a great idea! We try to go to the gym together sometimes but we have weird schedules and it’s difficult to do it consistently together. I can’t wait to have a house again! Having a home gym would be amazing! when we had our old house, I had a treadmill that I used frequently. So convenient.
We did the couples work out home gym thing too!!! I started with a yoga mat and a set of 5/10 lb weights. Helped us both lose a ton of weight and de-stress after our first devastating IVF in 2015.
@Sarah UGH! That sounds so good. I can't wait to have more space!
